Welcome our new Clinician Scientists - Dr. Mihai Ancau and Dr. Kolja Meier

As part of our Advanced and Early Clinician Scientist Programmes, we are happy to welcome and support Dr. Mihai Ancau and Dr. Kolja Meier as successful applicants to our TRR274 for the funding year 2022. 

Dr. Kolja Meier, our newest Early Clinician Scientist applicant, is a resident clinician in the Klinik für Kinder- und Jugendmedizin at the University Medical Center Göttingen and will work under supervision of Prof. Jutta Gärtner, while Dr. Mihai Ancau, part of the Advanced Clinician Scientist Programme, works as a resident at the Department of Neurology at Klinikum rechts der Isar in Munich and will work under supervision of Prof. Thomas Misgeld.

 

Welcome our new Clinician Scientists - Dr. Lara Marten and Dr. Katharina Eisenhut

As part of our Advanced and Early Clinician Scientist Programmes, we are happy to welcome and support Dr. Lara Marten and Dr. Katharina Eisenhut as successful applicants to our TRR274 in 2021. 

Dr. Lara Marten, who succesfully applied to the Advanced Clinician Scientist Programme, is a resident clinician in the Klinik für Kinder- und Jugendmedizin at the University Medical Center Göttingen and will work under supervision of Prof. Jutta Gärtner, while Dr. Katharina Eisenhut works as a resident at the Klinikum der Universität München and will be mentored and supervised by Prof. Kerschensteiner as part of the Early Clinician Scientist Programme.

Welcome our new Clinician Scientists - Dr. Johanna Knöferle & Dr. Jonas Franz

As part of our Advanced and Early Clinician Scientist Programmes, we are proud to welcome and support Dr. Johanna Knöferle and Dr. Jonas Franz as our first successful applicants to our TRR274. The Clinician Scientist Programme of the TRR274 is set to sponsor and encourage young medical professionals, who foster a deep interest and drive to participate in the scientific field and do science, to do so in parallel to their medical training.

TRR 274 - DZNE/Synergy Seminar Series

We are happy to welcome Dr. Li Gan as our first in person visitor and speaker on site in Munich! Dr. Gan is a Burton P. and Judith B. Resnick Distinguished Professor in Neurodegenerative Diseases, as well as Director at the Helen and Robert Appel Alzheimer’s Disease Research Institute at Weill Cornell Medicine. She will give a talk titled "Proteostasis, Innate Immunity and Cognitive Resilience in Tauopathy"

TRR 274 - DZNE/Synergy Seminar Series

We are happy to welcome Ari Waisman, Director of the Institute for Molecular Medicine, University Medical Center of the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, as our next guest speaker! He will be giving a talk titled "Where and how IL-17 regulates CNS autoimmunity".
The seminar will be hosted by our TRR 274 PI Thomas Korn.

Please save the date for our upcoming external TRR274/DZNE/SyNergy seminar taking place online on Wednesday 29th of June 2022 at 4pm. 

We are happy to have Harald Neumann, Professor at the Institute of Reconstructive Neurobiology at the University of Bonn, as our next guest speaker! He will be giving a talk titled "Control of innate immunity in the CNS by sialylation". The seminar will be hosted by our TRR 274 PI in Göttingen, Alexander Flügel.
